CMDCS Emanuel “Manny” Bolton, a native of Chicago, Illinois and graduate of Oak Park and River Forest High School, entered the Navy through Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon completion of Basic Training, he completed Sonar Technician “A” & MK 116 “C” Schools in San Diego, CA.
Bolton’s sea tours include USS CHUNG-HOON (DDG 93), where he served as the Weapons Departmental Leading Chief Petty Officer and CA Division Leading Chief Petty Officer, deploying to C5F and C6F in support of Operation NOBLE TORCH and Exercise CUTLASS EXPRESS; aboard USS PORT ROYAL (CG 73), serving as CA Division LPO, deploying to C5F in support of Operation NEW DAWN and various maritime campaigns; aboard USS CHOSIN for initial sea assignment as Work Center Supervisor, deploying to C5F in support of Operations ENDURING and IRAQI FREEDOM.
His shore assignments include Navy Recruiting Station Hyde Park and Navy Recruiting Station Oak Lawn while assigned to Navy Recruiting District Chicago as Recruiter in Charge. During this tour, he was selected to Chief Petty Officer. Both recruiting stations were awarded “Station of the Year” under his leadership; as Work Controls Leading Petty Officer for PEARL HARBOR NAVAL SHIPYARD & IMF. He reported to Transient Personnel Unit Hawaii, as the Senior Enlisted Leader in 2021 and in February, 2023 he was selected to the Command Senior/Master Chief program.
He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (236 Gray) and is a graduate of the CMC/COB course. In August of 2023, CMDCS Bolton reported to Pacific Missile Range Facility, Barking Sands HI to serve as the Senior Enlisted Leader.
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards); the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards); and other various personal, unit, and service decorations.
