PORT AND AIR OPERATIONS

Port Operations
One of the Navy's Busiest Harbors

Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam provides services similar to those of a large port city. It is one of the Navy's busiest, completing about 65,000 boat runs and transporting 2.4 million passengers and 200,000 vehicles each year. Tour boats manned by Navy personnel transport more than 2 million visitors to the USS ARIZONA memorial each year.

Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam also manages bachelor quarters, housing approximately 3,000 permanent party and transient personnel. The Military Family Service Center provides essential training, counseling, spouse employment and family enhancement programs for over 55,000 people each year. Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam also owns and operates one of the Navy's largest recreation and special services programs, has its own police and security force and is responsible for DoD firefighters in 13 stations island-wide.

Our customers represent a wide variety of ship and vessel classification from military ships such as aircraft carriers to locally owned pleasure craft such as sailboats. Our key customer base is made up of highly trained and professional Naval officers from a multitude of countries with years of experience in coastal navigation, piloting and ship handling.
