CMDCS Eddie Ko

 CMDCS (SW/AW) Eddie Kaneala Ko is native of Nanakuli, Hawaii, He graduated from Nanakuli High and Intermediate in 2002. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 2002 and graduated from Recruit Training Command and Electricians Mate “A” School in Great Lakes, Illinois.      
 
At sea, Ko has served onboard USS CAMDEN (AOE 2) in Bremerton, Washington, completed an Around the World deployment and successfully de-commissioned one of the last Sacramento-Class Fast Combat Support ship on the West Coast. On USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 73) in Bremerton, WA, and USS RUSSELL (DDG 59) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, he served as work center supervisor completing four tours to Arabian Gulf and Eastern Pacific theater. Onboard USS GARY (FFG-51) he served as Electrical Division Leading Petty Officer (LPO) completed two tours conducting Counter Drug Operations in the South Pacific and successfully de-commissioning the last Oliver Hazard Perry Class Frigate on the West Coast. Then while serving onboard USS NEW ORLEANS (LPD 18) in San Diego, CA he was promoted to Chief Petty Officer and led as the ships Hydraulic Shop Leading Chief Petty Officer. On USS WAYNE E. MEYER (DDG 108) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, he managed many roles to include Electrical Engineering (EE) Division LCPO, Engineering Officer of the Watch and Engineering Department Leading Chief Petty Officer (DLCPO). In February of 2024 while serving onboard USS BOXER (LDH-4) in San Diego, CA he was selected to the Command Senior/Master Chief Program.  
 
Ashore, Ko has served as Code 833 Leading Petty Officer at Intermediate Maintenance Facility Pacific Northwest (IMF PACNORWEST) where he led the repairs to vital electrical equipment and components to numerous Fast Attack and Trident Class in the Pacific Northwest.  Then as Mobility Engineering (MOB-E) / Engineering Assessment Pacific (EAP) Departmental Leading Chief Petty Officer at Afloat Training Group Middle Pacific (ATGMIDPAC) in Ford Island, Hawaii, he conducted numerous of training and certification events to our fleets Engineering Department Operating in the Pacific Theater Area of Responsibility.
 
He is a graduate of U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 255V Red) (8SEA) and Command Masters Chief / Chief of the Boat Course (Class 25040). In June of 2025, CMDCS Ko reported to Pacific Missile Range Facility, Barking Sands, Hawaii, to serve as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader.
 
Ko has earned the Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 awards), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (8 awards), Good Conduct Medals and various campaign and unit awards.
