CMDCS William Eickhoff (Will) was born and raised in Valencia, California. He graduated from high school and enlisted in the Navy in July 1996. He attended Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois. Following completion of recruit training he reported to Hospital Corpsman “A” School in Great Lakes, Illinois with a follow-on course of instruction at Fleet Marine Service School, Camp Pendleton, California.
His first tour was at Naval Medical Center San Diego from April 1997 through June 2000, were he was assigned to the Anesthesia Department, promoted to Third Class, and worked in the Pain Clinic. Following his tour at Naval Medical Center San Diego, he completed an Emergency Medical Technician and Naval Air Crew School. He was then assigned to Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico from 2000 through 2003 as a Search and Rescue Corpsman. He earned his wings of gold and flew on the UH3H with Fleet Composite Squadron EIGHT and was promoted to Second Class. He then applied to and completed Independent Duty Corpsman instruction and was promoted to First Class. His first tour as an IDC was aboard the USS Scout (MCM 8) from 2004 through 2007. During this tour he was selected as a Chief Petty Officer in September, 2006. His next tour was at the Naval Health Clinic New England’s Branch Health Clinic, Brunswick Maine. He applied for early sea duty and was assigned to Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command, Pearl Harbor, HI, from 2009 through 2013. During this tour he served as a Mountain Medicine Specialist and Mountaineer via the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center in Bridgeport, California. His next tour was with Coastal Riverine Squadron THREE in San Diego, from 2013 through 2016. During this tour he was promoted to Senior Chief. His next tour was at the Naval School of Explosive Ordnance Disposal in Niceville FL from 2016 through 2018. Here he gained the designation as a Master Training Specialist and in March, 2018, was selected as a Command Senior Chief. He executed orders to COMPACFLT, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii as the Executive Assistant to the Pacific Fleet Master Chief from January 2019 through May 2020. He is currently serving his second tour as a Command Senior Chief at the Pacific Missile Range Facility Barking Sands.
CMDCS Eickhoff has qualified as an Expeditionary Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Surface Warfare, and as Naval Aircrew. His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and numerous unit and campaign awards. CMDCS Eickhoff holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Clinical Health Sciences from George Washington University. He is also a graduate from the U.S. Navy’s Senior Enlisted Academy, as well as the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course.
