Water distribution sites established in response to water main break

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii – Water distribution sites have been established for Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam military family housing residents impacted by the water main break.

The following locations will distribute water: the Hickam Main Exchange parking lot near Burger King; and the Main Navy Exchange parking. Both sites will offer bottled water from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14. Beginning Saturday, Oct. 15, water distribution sites will be open from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. every day until further notice. A valid military ID will be required.

Each person in the household will be allowed one gallon of water per day.

Those in affected areas are advised to continue to conserve water. A boil water advisory remains in effect for impacted areas until further notice. The Navy is continuing to assess the cause of the water main break and is determining when restoration of full water services will resume. The Navy continues to monitor and investigate and will update residents and other stakeholders as information becomes available.
