CAPT Sam “Smokey” White, a graduate of the University of Missouri with a degree in Chemistry, received his commission from Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida. Following completion of Surface Officer School in Newport, Rhode Island, he reported to USS TORTUGA (LSD 46) where he earned his Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) designation. CAPT White is a 2007 graduate of the Air Command and Staff College (ACSC), Montgomery, Alabama, where he received a master’s degree in military Operational Art and Science.
Colonel Monica D. Gramling

Deputy Commander, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam
Colonel Monica Gramling is the Commander, 647th Air Base Group, 15th Wing, and Deputy Commander, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. In the 647th Air Base Group, she leads 900 personnel and five squadrons to deliver the full range of mission support for base, theater and global air/joint operations as required by the Commander, U.S. Pacific Command and the Commander, Pacific Air Forces.
