Nimitz Visitor Control Center, Pass & ID Access Requirements

All non-permanent personnel must submit visitor requests in person or on the phone with Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH) at the Pearl Harbor Pass & ID Office from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, (*6 a.m. to 12 p.m. every 3rd Thursday) or at the JBPHH Wahiawa Annex Pacific Pass & ID Office from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday/Wednesday/Friday, excluding holidays. Both offices are closed on weekends.

ACCESS CONTROL PASS & ID

**IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING BASE ACCESS REQUIREMENTS**
 
A valid Real ID or Real ID ID Act compliant Identification is required for all packet requests and submissions. Additionally, a Real ID or Real ID ID Act compliant Identification is necessary for DBIDS processing and pass pickups at the JBPHH Pass & ID Office.
 
Personnel requesting temporary visitor access must provide approved documents to authenticate identification. Acceptable credentials and source identity documents MUST be original, current (unexpired), and REAL ID Act compliant.
 

  • Documents that appear fraudulent, invalid, worn, or mutilated will not be accepted and may be confiscated.
  • Documents MUST NOT contain the markings “Not Valid for Federal Purposes,” “Not for Use as Federal Identification,” “Federal Limits May Apply,” or any other similar phrases.
  • Effective May 6, 2025, only REAL ID Act compliant driver’s licenses and ID cards are authorized for base access. Licenses or IDs possessing “NOT APPLICABLE FOR FEDERAL PURPOSES” will not be accepted.
 
IDENTIFICATION CREDNTIALS, Primary Documents that Establish Identity: Driver’s License or ID card issued by a REAL ID Act compliant state or outlaying possession of the U.S., provided it contains a photograph and biographic information such as name, date of birth, gender, height, eye color, and address.
 
Access Stipulations: Access is contingent upon the presentation of proper identification, credential validation through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS), and compliance with installation security protocols. While stipulations governing access to JBPHH are outlined in JBPHHINST 5530.2B, the Joint Base Commander retains the authority to modify or revoke access privileges for any personnel category at their discretion.
 
**NEW REQUIREMENT FOR AUTHORIZED SPONSORS (ORG BOX/IN PERSON PACKET SUBMITTALS):**
 
  • Each contractor/visitor filling out a Form 5512 (Background Proofing) MUST attach a copy of their REAL ID Act compliant identification to the form.
  • Contractors/visitors MUST present themselves in person when picking up their DBIDS card.
